DIY Gift Wrap

I am so excited to be a guest blogger for the 12 Days of Gift Wrap blog series with Canvas Corp. It isn't in my nature to create just one item, so I created fun gift wrap for a candle, a sac for a wine bottle, and a Christmas tag!

Up first is the wine bottle sac!

I started with a blank burlap sac from Canvas Corp.

Quick tip: It may be in your best interest to pay attention and not watch a tear jerking movie while crafting :) It turns out that while I was tracing the letters with a stencil, I traced the wrong letter!

Like I tell everyone, there's no such thing as a ruined project. Just add to it and make it look like you meant every move--no one will ever know unless you tell them!

Now for the candle! I LOVE receiving candles as a hostess gift and I especially love giving them. This is a creative way to make a simple candle stand out from the rest.

I took a strip of burlap and cut it down so that it would fit around the candle. I layered the burlap, canvas fringe and ribbon together and embellished the center with flowers and ribbon.

I cut out the Noel 25 with Canvas Corp Kraft paper. I sprayed it with some Tattered Angels "Coffee Shop" and sprinkled UTEE (ultra thick embossing enamel) on it and heated it with heat gun to give it a rusty vintage look.

I topped it off with a handmade burlap tag and mesh!

And lastly, the Christmas tag!

I began by cutting burlap into the shape of a large tag and then applied some putty.

I scraped a tree shape into the putty to give it dimension, then let it dry.

After the putty dried, I painted  it with some Tattered Angels sprays -coffee shop for the tree trunk and maya blue for the tree-- it gave it a great vintage green look!

Last but not least, I embellished it.... I made a tree skirt and presents  out of 7 gypsies paper tape!

I had so much fun using burlap, Tattered Angels paints, and Canvas Corp papers to complete these projects. I was definitely inspired to create these items, so I hope that they inspire you as well. Have a wonderful holiday season!

Recycled box

I thought I would share a recycled box I made ... I used canvas corp  burlap,7gypsies papers and embellishments then I misted the burlap and canvas materials with tattered leather . I used joint compound on the outer edges of my box, then misted them with my Tattered Angel glimmer mist tattered leather. I'm really happy how my recycled box turned out!
